UPR Short Print Cards
Short-printed cards, often referred to as low population or low pop cards
In 2021 Legend Story Studios (LSS) produced their fourth set called Monarch. With that set, LSS purposefully "short-printed" selected cards. The purpose was to make available fewer cards for the players. Why have 10 cards when 2 will do? They continued to short-print selected cards with each subsequent set, and the practice ended with the Bright Lights set.

Most of the short-print cards are regular / normal finish and there are no short print cards with the Cold Foil finish. There are, however, short-print cards in the Crucible of War set with a Rainbow Foil finish which allow us to speculate they are very rare and therefore could become very valuable.

It is important to understand that nearly all of the short-print cards are Majestic rarity and LSS, as much as possible, printed the frequency of each card within a rarity the same.

The number of selected short-print cards vary with each set. Crucible of War has the greatest number of short-printed cards (21), and there is only 1 short-printed card in Bright Lights. The percentage of short-print cards varies within each set, normally 50% and 60% fewer. There are six cards in the Outsiders set that have a 75% fewer printing than the other Majestic cards in the set. Nearly all of the short-print cards in the Dynasty set have been short printed by 66.6%!
Currently short-print cards are of little interest to collectors and investors. These cards are also very affordable. Being low population or low pop, little is known how many there are of these short-printed cards. With that, Moerlo looks at rarity as one of the determining factors for future value.
