Crucible of War

In August 2020 Legend Story Studios released their thrid booster set called Crucible of War. This set was also the first supplementary booster set. A supplementary booster set is designed specifically to enhance and expand constructed play and is not designed for booster draft play.

It also was the first set where Legend Story Studios deliberately 'short-printed' selected cards. The idea was that a player would not need 10 of the same card, and 2 would suffice. Hence short-print (aka low pop) cards would impact the way the game is played AND the way collectors & investors could become more excited about the cards in this trading card game. As Moerlo and Nnyleac have suggested, the short-print cards are rare. There are 22 short print cards in Crucible of War, four have a blue Rare rarity stamp along the bottom of the card, are rainbow foil and have been short printed by 66% less than other rare cards. The set was released in August 2020. The booster set contains a total of 198 cards. The Crucible of War boxes hold 22 packs per box and each pack contains 16 cards.

Within the Crucible of War Set comes a variety of cards and rarity. Each of these First Edition cards has a 'pull rate' which is the number of copies made of each particular card for the set. The rarer the card the lower the 'pull rate' pointing to the probability of its rise in value.

Fabled Rarity - A fabled card has a pull rate of 1 in every 960 packs ..... and remember that there are 24 packs in one box. Based on the number of boxes printed, there is a total of only 418 fabled cards in this set. This means you can expect to pull a fabled card once in every 15,360 cards!

Legend Rarity - A legend card has a pull rate of 1 in every 96 packs ..... 10 times more rare that a fabled card! There are 5 Legendary cards in Arcane Rising.

Cold Foil Finish - a cold foil finish card has a pull rate of 1 in every 24 packs ..... there are 16 cards in the full deck with the cold foil finish and this is the total population pull rate.

Marvel Finish - there are NO marvel finish cards in this set.

Short Print - there are 19 short print cards in this set that has a pull rate of 1 in every 248 packs. And 9 of these short print cards have a Rainbow finish.
Only 37,500 First Edition boxes were printed, and all were printed in Belgium. Compare this to the fact that 125,000 boxes were printed in the UNLIMITED Edition and these boxes were all printed in Japan. First Edition and Unlimited Editions are both out-of-print.
