FAB Short-Print Cards

Short-printed cards, often referred to as low population or low pop cards

Like other collectable card sets, sports cards, art or any other form of collectable, the rarity of an item is directly tied to its value.  The less that are in existence, the higher its potential value.  To find out if you have a high-value card masquerading as a base one, you should know how to identify a short-print (SP).

  • Legend Story Studios (LSS) short-printed selected cards starting with Crucible of War, retiring the practice with Bright Lights LSS.

  • Short-printing focuses on making the frequency of each card within a rarity the same.

  • Achieved as close as possible with notable planning, taking into consideration the fixed number of cards that will fit on a print sheet, and the number of print sheets that can co-exist.

  • LSS will intentionally short-print certain cards, generally relevant when a play set is a card is less than 3, such as Legendary Equipment Cards.  Players only want / need 1 copy of this type of card versus 3.

  • By intentionally short-printing these cards, LSS is balancing supply and demand.

  • This translates into the card being more rare and more valuable.

Currently there is little interest in the 11 sets that have deliberately short-printed cards (some up to 75% less).  Remember that Moerlo and Nnyleac's fundamental principle for collecting and investing is "if a Flesh and Blood card, sleeve or box increases in value, you should already own it!"

Diversify:  Make or become more diverse ..... in the realm of card collecting this would mean to collect unique and specialty cards that cover the full spectrum.

Speculation:  Assumption of unusual business risk in hopes of obtaining future monetary gain.....consider the low level of interest in short-printed cards today, speculating that their rarity will elevate them to higher value over time.

If you are interested in collecting Flesh and Blood short-print cards, visit the Flesh and Bood website | Game Section | Collector's Center page (Click HERE).  Select a set and you will see statistics on which cards are short printed.  There is an elevated level of rarity within the trading card industry known as Super Short Print (SSP).  Within the Flesh and Blood Trading Card Game these cards are referred as ESP (Extra Short Print).  Typically, Majestics are the cards that are ESP.
